FAQ

  • Can you provide music for the entire event?
    • Yes! We specialize in performing during ceremonies, receptions, cocktail hours and many other types of private events. Because we are such a diverse group of musicians, it is even possible to have two types of ensembles for a ceremony and reception during the same event.
  • What is the difference between background music and wedding ceremony music?
    • Background music is performed during a social event like a dinner or cocktail hour, while guests enjoy each others’ company. Music is generally selected by the performers. Wedding ceremony music is highly specialized, as the bride and groom are able to choose specific works to be performed as part of the ceremony. The music is one of the focal points of the wedding, which accounts for the difference in rates between the two types of engagements.
  • Do you accept credit cards?
    • Amarante Ensembles now accepts all major credit cards. Click here to make your deposit or final payment online.
  • Are you insured?
    • Yes, we are fully licensed and insured, which gives us and our clients that extra peace of mind.
  • Is amplification necessary?
    • We perform on fine concert instruments that are capable of filling a concert hall with sound. Thus, amplification indoors is generally not necessary. Outdoor ceremonies with smaller groups of musicians may benefit from amplification, but we have performed many times with as few as two musicians outside without electronic assistance.
  • Do you have a demo CD?
    • If you are unable to access the sound samples online for any reason, please feel free to contact us and we will send you a demo cd.
  • What styles of music do you play?
    • Amarante performs many styles of music, ranging from classical to light jazz, show tunes and popular songs.
  • My wedding is outdoors. What are your requirements for performing outside?
    • We are happy to perform for outdoor events provided that there is an alternate location provided in case of precipitation or low temperatures (below 60 degrees). Many of our instruments are extremely valuable and are made of wood that is sensitive to environmental changes, so the temperature requirement is an important one to prevent costly repairs!
